Our Scholarship Program
At Victorious Student Living, Inc., one of the ways we help college students in Tallahassee, Florida is to provide them with a scholarship. The expenses of going to a university can be too much for families with a small income. This is why we’re here to ease their financial situation by providing assistance. Victorious Student Living Scholarship
This scholarship, in the amount of $875.00 will be awarded to a graduating fourth-year PharmD candidate in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher), who is a parent that has demonstrated tenacity, professionalism and a willingness to give back (i.e. tutoring, volunteering, etc.) to their community/peers.
The scholarship will be awarded at the end of the spring semester. Preference will be given to pharmacy students who were/are homeless with children. This scholarship will be used to cover the cost of the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) for the scholarship recipient.
The scholarship will be issued via direct payment to the testing site that the recipient has selected to sit for the NAPLEX and MPJE exams. The recipient will have a year after graduation to schedule and take the exams. Additionally, the recipient will be required to send “Thank you” letters to donors within one year of the award.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be a graduating 4th year PharmD candidate who is attending FAMU College of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Institute of Public Health.

- An essay (150-250 words) describing “What advice would you give a pharmacy student who is a parent.” The essay should describe some of your struggles, how you overcame them and your service to your community and/or peers.
- Two letters of recommendation (one from a professor, academic adviser, employer, etc. and one documenting your volunteer/community service
Mary R. Still - Victory Is In Sight Scholarship

Mary R. Still, born on December 20, 1940, is the second child to Louis and Mary Reshard. She has worked tirelessly helping those of a low economic status and continues to dedicate her life to serving her community. With only a 7th grade education, Mary R. Still was one of the original employees at Capital Area Community Action Program (CAP). She was employed by the CAP for over 31 years, where she served over 2,000 clients facing food and housing insecurities monthly. During her tenure, her tasks included distributing food and commodities, maintaining a community clothing closet, assisting individuals with rent, utility payments, food vouchers, and temporary and permanent housing. She was selected by her peers to serve on the board of Legal Services of North Florida for several years. When she is not serving the community, she enjoys fishing, a hobby that has earned her several trophies. She also enjoys being active by attending to her flowers, caring for her dogs and cat and growing vegetables and fruit for harvesting. She also enjoys canning, quilting, reading and spending time with senior citizens. She is constantly giving her of time and resources to those in need. She takes pleasure in learning about young African Americans that achieve their dream of completing their college degrees, an opportunity that was rare within her generation.
Purpose
The purpose of this need-based scholarship is to honor Mary R. Still, a pillar in her community, by assisting college students and entrepreneurs experiencing a hardship. Victorious Student Living Inc., along with donors from the community will provide scholarship(s) in the amount of up to $500.00 annually for one or more college students and/or entrepreneurs in need.
